The Courage Needed
It's all easy to fall into the role of a victim , showcasing vulnerabilities and shifting blame on others head. We have the ability and the skill set to overcome those challenges. Today , I stumbled across an article highlighting the growth of rates in unemployment in terms of educated youth. These numbers will surely soar and is the main reasons why students migrate to foreign countries. These individuals in quest for more opportunities migrate with the expectation that the world outside is wonders. Yet , do students truly find the utopia they seek beyond our borders ?
As a college student I have come across many people who have to ability to build themselves up but are succumb to laziness . College isn't solely for academic excellence , it offers opportunities to grow and build your persona. Through clubs and activities we are encouraged to embrace failure as it is the stepping stone to success . If we are afraid to experience failure how can we succeed? I have had many students complaining about the college and how they could have excelled if placed in otherwise. But i see the lack of courage, effort and most importantly determination to change themselves. Our college provides ample opportunities to build our soft skills , conquer public speaking fear and explore areas where our interest lies. It is our responsibility to make maximum use of all these opportunities instead of complaining about the education system as a whole. We should learn to navigate the system to craft ourselves into unique individuals.
Everyone is different , equipped with various skills and abilities. We as students should be curious to explore every field to understand our interests . Blatantly blaming the system for not getting a job is not the solution. What the job offers? How can i be unique from all the candidates who are applying for the job ? What are my skill sets? How can I use these skill sets to leverage them to my advantage in the job market ? ..... are the questions we ought to be asking ourselves.
