The Best Laid Plans - Sidney Sheldon ( Non Spoiler Review )
Today I got
to complete a stunning book written by a legendary Oscar-winning author Sidney
Sheldon. His first ever book I read was his autobiography, this is the second. His story towards being a successful author
is what drew me into selecting his book once again. Isn't it the most beautiful feeling ever when
we have preconceived notions about a particular story but the author flips the
script and presents a fresh perspective? Isn't this
what attracts all mystery
lovers irrespective of the medium be it books or movies?
A proverbial expression – the best laid plans , is used to signify in making a detailed plan while the process of fully or partially executing it remains uncertain. The expression does tune in line with the elements in the book. It comprises of various events, twists and turns, assents and descents and thrilling adventures.
The story revolves Oliver Russell, a handsome young man who rises to become a governor due to his charismatic nature. He tends to hold various other political positions in course of time. Leslie Stewart seeks vengeance towards Oliver and is determined to have him removed from the post he holds. Oliver who is a dreamer wants to win over the White House while Leslie plans to stop him from attaining his goals at any cost. They both should know that even the best laid plans could take a dangerous turn which would eventually teach the lesson that everything comes with a price.
I would rate this a 9/10
